Defensive Pistol 1 is a 4-hour course that teaches safe handgun handling, firing, and maintenance. It's not for beginner-level shooters and costs $159.99 per person. The course includes certification of completion and 1 target. You'll learn about gun owner responsibilities, safe handling procedures, ammo types, maintenance, and more. Use of a simulator is included. Bring your personal firearm and any necessary equipment. 

• Long pants with pockets
• Closed toed shoes (no flip flops or sandals)
• Crew neck (T-Shirt) or button up shirt (no low-cut neck lines)
• A cover garment to conceal the firearm
• 3 magazines or enough magazines to carry 30 rounds
• Holster and magazine pouch (shoulder rigs, ankle holsters, and off-body carry are NOT permitted for this class). Holster must be Kydex or leather and one that does not collapse when the firearm is drawn or holstered. Due to safety considerations, students will NOT be permitted to take the class without a proper holster. Students who do not have acceptable holsters may rent a holster and firearm from The Powder Room to successfully complete the class

• 150 rounds of ammunition

You may bring and or rent any type of handgun that you are ultimately going to carry.  Rental handguns are NOT included in the cost of the course.
